Carwow and Cap HPI partner to offer a “unique” view of the market
Carwow has partnered with Cap HPI to provide manufacturers with in-depth data about how their models are performing in the eyes of buyers.
The ‘mid-life cycle insight’ packs will contain insight from a "statistically significant sample size of consumers", which the two data giants claim will enable OEMs to make "robust data-led decisions on anything from product benchmarking to price positioning".
By combining the power of Cap HPI market data with Carwow’s cross-shop data - which can be tracked down to sales level - manufacturers can expect insight into how specific car models are positioned in customers’ mind.

New Manheim product will help dealers add pictures more quickly
Manheim has launched a new product called QuickList Imagery to help dealers reduce the time it takes to add pictures to their online adverts.
QuickList Imagery allows customers to buy Manheim’s wholesale images when they win a vehicle at auction.
As part of the product, buyers can choose the original interior and exterior vehicle images or opt for customised pictures with a personalised background.
The launch follows a recent dealer survey by Manheim in which 79 per cent of respondents said that time spent taking or obtaining images was a challenge, while 60 per cent confirmed that it typically takes at least three days to list a vehicle for sale with full imagery.

Aston Barclay appoints Richard Cross as group sales director
Aston Barclay has appointed former Manheim director Richard Cross as its new group sales director.
Cross, who held the post of sales director for dealer sales and buyer services at the Cox Automotive remarketing specialist until December last year, will be responsible for driving new sales volumes in Aston Barclay’s physical centres and digital platforms.
Aston Barclay said that Cross, who has also worked at Citroen UK and more recently ran his own automotive data and artificial intelligence solutions business, Car Condor, has significant experience, making him “the perfect candidate for the role”.

EVs already at ‘tipping point of acceptance’, says Shoreham Vehicle Auctions
The electric car market in the UK has already reached a ‘tipping point of acceptance’ according to Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA), as used prices and demand continues to grow based on greater dealer and consumer knowledge of emission-free and low emission motoring.
According to SVA’s managing director Alex Wright, along with other insights issued by Connected Places Catapult, fleets are key to future adoption of electric and plug-in vehicles, but only with a healthy used market place and strong residual values.
