NAMA has developed a standard grading scheme for auctions. The scheme is to enhance transparency and make it easier for auction buyers to select the vehicles they want to buy. The grades are based on the external condition of a vehicle. The scheme has 5 grades. The grades are determined on a points system allocated by type and severity of damage. Grades will be assessed by inspectors at each auction specifically trained to grade vehicles and working to a strict standard.
The scheme has been adopted by BCA and Manheim and other NAMA members will be looking to adopt the scheme over the next few months.
